New Phoenix + A-Trak Disc Contest

One of the dudes in Phoenix was once in a band with both Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (see: this)! And “Everything Is Everything” was featured on one of the millions of versions of Guitar Hero! What’s more, “Too Young” from their debut album was featured in the feature film Shallow Hal! And vocalist Thomas Mars can be seen briefly in the movie The Virgin Suicides!

So. Enough with the random Wikipedia mumbo jumbo. The important this is that they’re releasing their upcoming album – Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix – this May. And if the first leaked song is any indication, this is gonna be some sorta release. The song in question is “1901″ and you can download it for free here. Or here:

On another note, Serato and A-Trak just teamed up to give away an A-Trak picture disc. The disc is his music on the front and a Serato control record on the back. Perhaps A-Trak’s dropping some tunes via White Label? I’m not sure – they press release wouldn’t load for me. But what I do know is that I have two of these bad boys (see: picture) to give away. So email me with a reason regarding why you’d rather win a disc from Panda Toes than one from our friends at Discobelle and I’ll decide who I think are the most deserving contestants. Or if you’d rather win a disc from Discobelle, tell me why and maybe I’ll reward your honesty. Or maybe I’ll immediately discredit your entry. Test your luck.
